The journey of life is not meant to be a race. Slow down, reflect, listen for God.
A puffy pillow sunrise as I awake from rest
What brings this day before me as I seek my quest?

How? Oh how, should I start my day?
A cup of jo or on my knees to pray?

So much to do I just can't wait
I must get started before it's too late.

I spring to my feet to get ahead
Not taking the time to make my bed.

Without hesitation I jump in life's rut
Only to be beaten and ignored like a mangy old mutt.

I give my best, I give my all away
Why? Just to do it again the very next day.

Barely a moment to reflect is taken
To understand really what's been forsaken.

The sands of time slipping by
Stuck in life's race to feed the lie.

When will I stop to take the moment?
To thank and praise God and lament.

God's plan for us is so special
Stop! Listen! And like a child, nestle.
