How to reduce the environmental impacts from your vehicle while on the road this summer.
Putting aside the global warming controversy for a moment, let's get realistic. Wheels that turn need fuel, exude exhaust, and require maintenance such as lubricants and more than the number of fluids we care to list here. Some of these hardly contribute to a global warming trend but do have an impact on the environment one way or another.

My first attack is the motor lubricants we've come to traditionally use. My father reminded me on a regular basis that the oil in cars and machinery needed changing regularly. If he saw what can be done in that area, he wouldn't need a lightening storm to jump out of his grave. More than four hundred thousand miles has been driven between an oil changes in one truckers case, which used synthetic motor oil with an additional filtration after-market component. That has saved the environment tons of emissions, fuel and even used oil. A regular family car could also see a difference, only by but not needing to go the dealer for servicing, other than typical scheduled items, would make life a lot easier. When the EPA or an Air Care Program requires a monitoring appointment, the benefit is obvious. These print-outs show just how much and the number of toxins is in the emissions if the vehicle is not in optimum condition.

My next hobby horse is the antifreeze/coolant. Ethylene glycol is so toxic and lethal that if only a couple of drops are ingested by a curious and thirsty pet or fish habitat, death is certain. That doesn't make me feel comfortable about how vulnerable the environment is. Propylene Glycol is the only option which is not toxic or lethal but also performs in superior aspects of protect vehicles from extreme temperatures.

We often forget that the vehicles we drive also need to breath and if we don't improve the air, car and trucks will not perform either. Improving the air intake with superior filters that have Nano-fiber technology keeps the air cleaner longer and will maintain a higher level of efficiency. This means that fewer contaminants will get through without starving the engine of needed air. This same science is applied to the fluid filters which are superior in quality and efficiency. Driving across the country and back without an oil change in an unfamiliar town that with an unscrupulous mechanic would motivate me to use the best available product option before heading out on the summer car trip.

When these factors are remembered when you take your car in for servicing, recall this and request superior products to achieve reduction in a list of ways, the big one being the earth which we depend on.
