Poem of one scary night... |
Picture This Picture This One restless cold damp summer night Stars pulsing through the sky as if God is watching you A noise, a bang, a scream All heard from afar but that gets you thinking About all of the impossible The closed window breezes open A strong gust of air smelling like rotting corpses pierces your nose That gets you thinking The noise, the bang, the scream And now the smell But tonight is just like every other night Strange noises, strange smells But what about those strange disappearances But there's no time for those thoughts The smell is like an infectious disease Spreading around to get hold of the closest thing As lazy as you are, you make your way to the window And shut it You look out A man walking down the street Hands in pockets looking left from right Making sure nobody is there watching But here you are And that gets him thinking Still walking this man turns his head to you As if he knew you were there Waiting for him to see you But how could he Its pitch black out That gets you thinking Your eyes are still locked Without you noticing he makes his way back down the street But you can't see him anymore He's not there This time you try not to think But what good is that You can't help it and come up with the worst thoughts But the scary thing is Your thoughts are right This has you scared and you make your way back to bed With your head tucked underneath your pillow You hear a knocking Just like there is now That knock, knock, knock But what can you do? Wait for you mom to get the door? Your mom's out of town. But that’s not the only thing The knocking is from the window |
