This is the edited version-totally different from#1. #2
I was getting ready for the night when I heard him call to me, "Sara," he said, in a voice only I could hear.  His voice sent a shiver down my spine and I felt what seemed to be a small imaginary pull.
Who is this person who sounds so strangely familiar, as always?  I thought to myself.
I was startled, but not enough to think more of it, as it was a regular occurrence that I pondered daily.  I went back to focusing on getting ready for the night.  Some of my friends had decided that it would be fun to go out into the woods and play lazer tag.  Then the phone rang and interrupted my thoughts.  I was tempted to ignore the annoying sound of ringing resounding throughout the house, but I changed my mind and answered it anyway.
         "Hi," I said.
"Hey, Sara," Zack replied, "Are you almost ready?"
         "Yeah, almost."
"So I'll pick you up in 45 minutes, around 8:30, be ready to go, okay?"
"Okay, I'll be ready." I answered.
"Good. I'm glad you are coming, you'll have a good time, I promise," he reassured me.  *Click* The phone went dead.
I continued to get ready, which took less time than I thought it would.  When I was done, I had 15 minutes to spare, so I curled up in my favorite chair and reached for the remote.  As I did, I heard a knock on the door.  I opened the door to find a wonderfully handsome, tall, young man, with blue eyes and dark hair, standing on my doorstep.
"Hi, Sara." he said as he handed me the puppy.
"Hi, Zack thanks!" I replied as I set it on the counter.  I couldn't believe he was actually here.  He said he would take me tonight, but even after he had called, I wasn't sure he would come, because lately he seemed to have other things on his mind.  We had been friends for an extremely long time, so I was excited that I could hang out with him.
"Are you ready to go?" he asked.
"Yeah, let's go," I replied, but even though I said that I stayed there frozen as I heard the voice, the voice only I could hear, call to me,  "Sara," the voice said as I felt the pull, that seemed a little stronger than it usually was.
"Sara, are you coming or what?"
"Oh, right, yeah definitely!"  I answered, thankful that he hadn‘t noticed what had just taken place.
We walked outside and I climbed into the passenger seat, as he sat in the driver's seat, of his fiery orange ‘Eclipse' and we drove off into the night.  As we pulled onto the street by the forest, he slowed down to a stop.  It was silent.  He stared down the street for a while, looking for any sign of our friends, and then looked at me.
"Come on, let's go." he said.  He could tell I was hesitant. "They decided to meet in the woods so Billy could go get  the equipment ready so we could just play when everyone got here."  After a little more encouraging, he finally got me to come out of the car.  As we walked through the woods, I looked up.  I could tell that it was a dark clear night, but the stars were impossible to see.  In this part of Washington, there are too many trees that make it hard to see the night sky.  I can honestly say that I had never seen the stars where I lived.
We pressed on through the pitch-black forest.  Moments later, we saw our friends and directly after getting the equipment, that Billy had brought, on for the game we split up and started.  It was a vigorous game, but along the way while we were trying to hide from the new forceful attack of the other team we somehow became completely out of bounds.  We weren't just barely out of bounds, but entirely out of bounds.
It was then that the voice came back again, louder and more forceful than ever, "SARA!" he cried, and yet again only I could hear it.  I braced my self for that odd, small, but big enough pulling sensation.  When it didn't come I was surprised and excited that I may never have to hear odd voices or feel that strange pull ever again.  In that instant I was fully pulled in a way unimaginable, but for some odd reason Zack was pulled too. We were in a clearing, which was impossible, or was it?  The sky could be seen, it was pure coal black with crystal stars placed in the perfect spots, glistening.  I looked at the marvelous sky for a while, trying to comprehend what had just occurred.
"What do you think," he asked, "Where the heck are we!?"
I was completely overwhelmed, I had no clue. I looked around; this was most definitely not Washington.  I turned to where he had been, to answer him.
"Zack..." I said, but he wasn't there. This wasn't good. "Zack, where are you!" I screamed as I heard him snicker.  "Zack this is most definitely NOT funny!"
"Boo!" he whispered into my ear as he grabbed my shoulders and I jumped and screamed as he laughed at my terror.
"That wasn't funny!" I yelled at him.
"Sorry," he said as he was laughing, "I'm just going to find out where in the world we are! I'll be right back," he said and then kissed me on the check and then walked off.  It was strange coming from him as my best friend, but it was a good strange.
I wandered around aimlessly and decided to sit down.
Then a young man came over and sat down next to me.  He wasn't as nice looking as Zack, but he still looked pretty good.  He had sandy hair that was partially curly and hazel eyes, the outsides were brown with green bursts near the pupils.  He was tall and skinny.  I allowed my thoughts to wander as I stared and he stared back.  It wasn't and uncomfortable stare, but a welcoming one. It was anomalous that I was so comfortable around him though I didn't know who he was, but he looked so familiar.
His voice finally snapped my thoughts back to reality, "What is your name?" he asked.
"My name is Sara," I replied.
"Sara..." he said, after a moment.  In that split-second my blood went cold, it was the voice; his voice was the one I had heard earlier that night.  I was unsure whether I should be afraid or excited.  His voice soft and comforting, harsh and firm, friendly and cruel, all at the same time, called to me.
He must have noticed that I had gone pale, I realized, when he asked, "Are you alright?"
"I don't know." I said.
I could tell he didn't understand, even though somehow I felt that he should since he was the one I was unsure about.
"Who are you?" I asked abruptly.
Still confused he answered, "I'm William."
"Yes, you are William, but who are you really and how do you know me?"
"You won't believe me, but since you are so persistent, I'll tell you anyway.  I am William as you know; I am to be married to you tonight," he said in a voice so hypnotizing that I felt no power to question his words, "and that is why I brought you here," he finished.
"Okay," was the only word I could force myself to say.
In my peripheral vision I noticed Zack with something in his hand, walk up, coming back from his exploring, but William didn't seem to notice and I hadn't really either because I was too hypnotized by William's mesmerizing stare.
"Will you marry me?" he said.
"Yes," I replied.
"Okay, good, let's go then," he said and grabbed my hand.
"I don't think that's a good idea," Zack said as he lifted the object that he had in his hand, which I now noticed was a sword, into the air.
"No Zack!" I screamed and William moved pushing me out of the way just in time.
I heard metal scraping against metal as William pulled out his sword, which I did noticed he had, and started fighting.  They fought as I screamed for them to stop, but William, being caught off guard from the start, couldn't defend himself against the strong blows for long.
All of a sudden there was dead silence.  William fell on his knees as blood poured from  his chest, where Zack had stabbed him.
"She will be my queen," he cried, "you just wait, I always get what I want."
Those were the last words he cried before he fell, dead, at my feet, looking up at me with an already pale face and unblinking, glazed-over eyes. That was when I fully regained myself and was able to think clearly and in the instant that he died, we were pulled again, back into the forest.  We were just in time to hear one of our friends announce, "And now we crown Zack and Sara, King and Queen of lazer tag." and they all cheered.
Suddenly a voice broke through the cheering, "She will be my queen, not yours," it was Billy.  Then I realized, Billy was William.  He ran towards us with his sword and stabbed Zack in the chest and Zack fell on his knees.  Blood pouring steadily from his chest coloring the ground with his own crimson red and his eyes rolling toward the back of his head turning more glazed over as time went on and people stood motionlessly watching, staring into the pale face and unblinking eyes of the motionless and dead Zack.  And I... was cursed, fully pulled into the strange world yet again and not for the last time.
