So I felt the light in her eyes was dim
The voice it was shut, with a silent hiss closed
So I felt her breath grow slim
The blood it was slowed, with a grinding halt
So I felt her body shiver
The hair it was bedraggled, with a ribbon strewn about her head
So I felt her eyes widen
The ankle it was seized, with a shattering cry she came down crashing
So I felt her heart’s tendrils cut from mine
And when my eyes did open
Her shape was beautiful to behold
Her image though, in my mind
Could never be made whole
