I look into her dark, dark eyes.
They used to be warm,
but are now as cold as ice.

And I look at her grim smile.
I could tell she used to laugh,
and that she hasn't for a while.

I look at her pitiful face.
Inside she's calling out for help,
deep down she knows she's a disgrace.

She's built a wall
separating herself from the world.
She's falling apart,
for she's shoved a dagger through her heart

She starts to cry
as she thinks of the people
she's leaving behind.

She wants someone to come in.
To stop her.
To embrace her and take away her fear.

She was shaking, she was afraid
as she took her final breath,
and cried her final tear.

Who was this girl in the mirror?
I realize that she's my soul,
and I vow to never become her.
