A letter to me listing things to do in the new year. A list of goals |
Dear Me, It is now 2008 and time to make a few serious decisions for the coming year. You really need to finish the WHISKERS story so you can move on to something new. Perhaps you could try writing poetry, a western or a mystery. Finish what you started and move on. The story you are writing about WHISKERS the rabbit will be a good story for young children.. To capture the imagination of a child is wonderful and challenging, but you must walk a very fine line to hold their attention. Hopefully they will love the WHISKERS story enough to look forward to his adventures as well as his very best friends join him. Another task you should address is your reading schedule. If you would read at least two items per day from the list that is available, you will be inspired in your own writing attempts. Seek the opinions of the members, they will be honest and set you on the right track with your stories. As a "people watcher" for most of your life there are so many stories lodged in your mind. Turn your imagination loose, put it all on paper and you will be amazed at how quickly the words appear on the pages. Soon, your stories will be told for all to enjoy, after you edit and check the spelling, two very important factors you must learn. A major problem to solve will be to find an agent and try to get published. Goodness, it would be a dream come true if that happened. Perhaps the story about WHISKERS will make the grade. |
