At times I want to reach out
and write about past years
re-writing all the sad parts
erasing all your tears
these words of love I’ll write
will gently touch your heart
let me find my poets pen
with this paper I will start
Sometimes I want to reach out
for loved ones gone today
I’d let them know how much there missed
I need to find a way
I will write with many letters
formed into my words
now that my ink is flowing
this poem can be heard
I really want to reach out
seek my dreams and find
a way to make right all the wrongs
and give you peace of mind
now watch my busy hands
writing words to say
giving you my heartfelt love
on this very day
At times I want to reach out
and touch your beating heart
its loving flow is endlessly
it touches every part
these words of art you read
create a mental vision
this poetic journey that we share
is a growing mission
Sometimes I want to reach out
to touch another’s soul
patching all the broken parts
I want them to be whole
my words upon this paper
will show them that I care
being united through this poem
now I am right there
I really want to reach out
I know just what to do
I write these words of poetry
for every one of you
you give me inspiration
now stand proud and so tall
I’m ending this special poem
