A poem cooked up in 15 minutes flat about the world moving faster than we can keep up with
The rain will come, the rain will go,
Where it stops, nobody knows.
The first drop, everyone knows,
Is your cue to stop and go.

The sun will come, the sun will go,
Where it stops, everyone knows.
Its golden rays gives life to grow,
What if it stops? Nobody knows.

The snow comes, and the snow goes,
Once it stops, everybody throws
Snowballs and snowmen grow
On the fields of white of contrite snow.

Autumn comes, and autumn goes,
Through red and gold the wind will blow,
Leaves will fall, the sunsets glow,
Through another year the river of life flows.

In the winter night or the warm summer days,
Will you turn your back and walk away?
The World will turn with or without you,
Won’t you come and turn with it too?
We saved you some space, right over there,
So come join us, and stop acting cavalier,
Our turning dance will still continue,
But it really isn’t the same without you.

The fire will burn, come Spring or Fall,
And we are tied to be there through it all.
Every end, every exit, every spark and ember,
will not stop for sun or September.
Our decisions its fuel, our follies its kindling,
Through the centuries with no signs of ending,
Governments rise and revolutions are rendered,
And the fire is stoked to stay burning forever.
Only one request I have, and it’s small,
I’d like to hold your hand through it all.
There’s only one thing I ask, something small,
I’d like to hold your hand through it all.
