My first post here. Wrote this watching my 13 year old on the beach. thank you
Beautiful Child
       
          Playing in the sand
          Hair gleaming gold from the
          Fading sun.

          Full of dreams of fame
          And beauty and hope.
          Full of passion for things
          Helpless and mute.
          Sounding black and white
          Right and wrong,
          As if full of the wisdom of the ages
          Innocent of life.

Beautiful Child
     
          On the edge between young and old.   
          Full of compassion and worry for
          Those loved.
          Full of scorn for those deemed
          Unworthy.
          Full of wonder still
          For the beauty of the
          Sunset and the stars.
