Delving into the newspapers, when the radio is playing..
The Morning Paper.

I read the paper today.
A literary essay of misery and dismay.
Illustrated with images of rage.
All those pictures on one page.

(Oh!, what a picture, what a photograph..)

Murdered in bed,
He had chopped off her head.
And up to them he crept.
And then choked them while they slept.

(Axe man, you are a lunatic..)

All this on one page of information.
Printed out is the lunacy of this nation.
No wonder we live in fear,
And still no one sheds a tear.

(It is the evening of the day..)

Drugs and sex and violence,
Hate and scorn and decadence.
Cheating swindling lying crying,
Hurting hating death and dying.

(Under my thumb..)

In a community of thieves and swine.
A pervert rapist was doing time.
He got out on parole on the advice of others,
He went home and slaughtered his Mother.

(Did you hear about the midnight rambler..?)

Mrs Magee was only forty two,
Her husband and Kids was all she knew.
Underneath the calm exterior,
Was a feeling of being inferior.

(When your down..)

She took some pills to make her feel good,
And her self belief told her they would.
But the medication gave her a notion,
That put a tale of tragedy into motion.

(She went running to the shelter of her mothers
little helpers..)

Her husband was the first to suffer,
She put poison in his supper.
The kids did not fare out good,
She went and killed them in the wood.

(Strawberry fields forever..)

The police called by and investigated,
And a reason for her crime was stated.
She suffered from anxiety,
Brought on by the pressure of society.

(They lay down beside me and I say my confession to them..)

We can all sympathise,
But we never hear the cries.
From those effected,
After being neglected by the elected.
Will this continue or end,
I cannot comprehend.
A future of what is now the norm,
We’ll read about it in the morn….
.
(Have you seen the news today..)

End.
