The story of 2 Mary's after they saw Jesus on Easter.
Two Mary's and the Empty Tomb

Characters
Mary Magdalene: Very enthusiastic and fired up.
Other Mary: More calm and factual.

Scene:  Two Mary’s come charging down the center aisle.  Mary Magdalene leads the way, speaking her lines.  The other Mary desperately is trying to catch up and restrain her.  She catches her as they get to the front of the sanctuary.

Mary Magdalene (visibly excited and shouting): Can you believe it!?  Can you believe it!?  Jesus is alive!  I mean He is really alive!!!  I couldn’t believe it myself.  At least not at first…

Other Mary: Hold on there Mary Magdalene!  (calmly and matter of factly, to congregation)  You’ll have to excuse my friends excitement. You see, we just saw Jesus – Risen from the dead, just like He said.  He is not dead anymore …

MM:  HE IS ALIVE!  HE IS RISEN!  HE IS RISEN INDEED!  ALLELUIA!  ALLELUIA!  PRAISE GOD!

OM: You see, it was like this.  We …

MM: She means, the other Mary, myself and some other women

OM:  … went to anoint Jesus’ body with spices and oils…

MM:  You see after three days in the grave, bodies tend to get … a little fragrant.

OM:  Are you finished now?  As I was saying, a group of us went to the tomb expecting to find Jesus’ body so that we could do what we could to preserve it.  When we got there we found …

MM:  No body, No soldiers, the stone had been rolled away and there were 2 angels!

OM:  Yes, we were quite surprised to find that Jesus wasn’t there.  We wondered who had stolen Jesus body.  We were visibly upset.

MM:  I was crying my eyes out!

OM:  Then the angels asked us what was wrong.  Like they didn’t know.  They were sitting where we had placed Jesus a few days before.  But, to state the obvious.

MM:  I said, "They have taken my Lord away and I don't know where they have put him."

OM:  And then, something truly amazing happened…

MM:  I SAW JESUS!  ALIVE!  JESUS WAS ALIVE!  JESUS IS ALIVE!  He walked right up to me and talked to me.  My tears of sorrow turned to tears of joy!  Our teacher was with us again.  We felt complete.

OM:  Yes, it was truly an earthshattering experience.

MM:  I’ll say.

OM:  Jesus asked us to go tell His disciples what we had seen…

MM:  So, here we are to tell you …

BOTH:  WE HAVE SEEN THE LORD!

MM:  HE IS RISEN!

OM:  HE IS RISEN INDEED!

BOTH:  ALLELUIA!

(MM and OM exit down the center aisle shouting):  JESUS IS ALIVE!

THE END
