About the beauty of the night time.
        Broadway
White glowing orbs
hung above
broken red,
a dim glow haunts
fractured glass
as light
touches tomorrow.
horizontal flashes
Yellow.
Darkness.
Yellow.
Darkness.

        Porch
the radiant beauty
is lulled to sleep
by canine howling
and Old Glory
waving against black.
Metallic music indicating
life passing
on the frigid gust
of creaking wood,
like smoke blown
into a dark night.

Shining beauties
hand tossed lighting
the wanderer's way
already dead, yet
Beauty stopped
generously giving
to those that look.
sights in a forbidden
time, continue living
carving through black
terrain towards impending
light. Cricket's lullaby,
a howling tenor sings
an aria of a moonless night.
ever composing black
outlined notes across
bars of glass, wooden
pickets, and power
lines, setting their music

free

of sun-glossed horrors.

crawling
into the wanderer's ear
where there
recognition, translation,
recomposing sings
the aria of night.
