"He watched her from afar, afraid to get close, afraid to be hurt again."
He watched her from afar, afraid to get close, afraid to be hurt again. Afraid he would hurt her again.

It had been nearly a year but he could still remember her. He could remember her touch, her voice, the way she looked… everything. He could close his eyes and think back to the days when everything was simple, when she didn’t know… when she didn’t suspect him.

“I’m sorry.” He’d told her, desperation coating his words, begging her to forgive him to forget.

She didn’t care, she shook her head; tears spilled down her cheeks, “I can never forgive you,” She hissed, “It’s too late for that.”

His heart broke with every step she took away from him, with every moment that she was gone. As he watched her now he could pretend that it was better this way, that without him she was finally happy… but her eyes deceived her smile, she was lost in pain and hopelessness.

For the first time in his life he wished that he had never been born, just so that she wouldn’t feel the sorrow that he put her through. He wished that she had never loved him, just so that he could see her truly happy.

It was too late now; happiness was only a far away thought. It only existed in dreams.
