a story about a girl named chelsea. her mom died in a car wreck .

Chelsea felt her life flash before her eyes and she knew it would never be the same again.

"Hey she's awake." Chelsea woke up and saw a nurse talking to a doctor outside her door. . She was hooked up to an IV and a monitor was beeping next to her. A girl was sleeping in the bed next to her
    "Hi, I’m your nurse, Angie."
Chelsea would never have noticed the little old lady sitting on the couch next to her bed if she hadn't said something.
"Do you know why you're here?"
Chelsea nodded yes. She remembered the car wreck vividly. She had been thinking about her father when it happened. She remembered how he got shot when she was just six years old. Her mother had been driving at the time.
"In the wreck your mother was killed. You were in a coma for two weeks."
For some reason, Chelsea didn't cry. She just sat there staring at the ugly floral wallpaper. She sat there for who knows long. Eventually Angie stood up and left.
For the next two weeks Chelsea watched T.V. and ate and slept. Then, one day she had a visitor. A lady in her mid-thirties came in. She looked happy but you could see the sadness in her eyes. She had honey blonde hair, deep blue eyes, and a soft supple complexion. She wore a v-neck sweater, tight jeans, and a pair of converse sneakers.
"Hi, my name is Aunt Jessie. You're Chelsea, correct."
Chelsea nodded. Her voice was exactly like Chelsea's mothers.
"Well, if you are ready we can leave. We have to stop by your house so you can get all of your things. Then we can be on our way back to New York City."
Chelsea got up and got dressed. While she was walking out the door she heard the nurse and Aunt Jessie's whispered conversation.
"What's wrong with her? Doesn't she know how to talk?"
"I'm not sure. I haven't been able to get a word out of her."
"Well I'm only taking her because my sister asked that if anything happened to her that I take care of her daughter. If she hadn't asked this of me she would be living in an orphanage with a bunch of misfit kids."
Chelsea got dressed and went back to the room where Jessie was waiting with a phony smile. They got in Aunt Jessie's truck and drove about a mile to Chelsea's house. Chelsea got out while Aunt Jessie sat in the truck and waited. She opened the door and walked into her bedroom. It looked so unused. She walked in and grabbed her suitcase and filled it with all of her clothes, then she picked up her favorite stuffed monkey that her dad gave her when she was sick, her blanket that her mom bought her when they went to California on vacation, her laptop, all of her books, fake jewelry, her iPod, and her diary. Then, she went to her mom's room and took all of her jewelry, her mom's favorite pillow, and her mom's stash of money. After that she sat on her mom's bed and cried.
"Come on, hurry up!" She heard her aunt yell from the truck. She stood up and walked out of the door knowing it would be the last time she ever saw that house again. It was a four hour drive to her new "home". When she got there she knew she would hate it there. It was so big and right in the middle of Broadway Boulevard.
"Now before we go in there are a few things I should tell you.
    1. You will be sharing a room with Tiffany, my daughter.
    2. My husband's name is Bill and he is very strict and gets mad easily.
    3. Never go into me and my husband's room.
    4. Do not complain.
I'm not saying this to be mean, I'm saying this to protect you. Like I said, Bill gets mad easily and he won't hurt you but he will yell. A lot."
All of the sudden the front door burst open and a girl about 14 years old came running out looking very happy. She looked like a mini version of Aunt Jessie.
    "Mommy!"
"Hey sweetie!" Aunt Jessie hugged the girl and introduced her.
"Honey, this is Chelsea. Chelsea this is my daughter Tiffany."
Tiffany gave her an evil look and mumbled "Hi"
"Tiffany, take Chelsea up to your room and show her where to put her stuff. I’ve got to start making dinner. I’ll call you when dinner is ready."
"Fine." Tiffany pouted and stormed off early waiting for Chelsea to catch up.
Together they ran the stair to Tiffany's bedroom.
"Look here. I don't like you. You think you can just enter on someone's life unexpectedly and just change everything. I put a line through the middle of the room you stay on your side and I'll stay on mine. You can have that small closet over there. I don't use it anyway. Don't even think about touching my stuff 'cause if you do I'll have you out of here in five minutes."
Chelsea sat on the bed that had been put in there for her.
"Look, I do feel sorry for you, I mean, because your mom died and everything but everything was so normal. But, don't think I'm going to be nice to you. ."
Chelsea put her clothes in the closet and put her diary, jewelry, and money in a little box she took from her mom's room. She put her laptop, iPod, and books on a book shelf that was on her side of the room and was empty.
"Dinner."Aunt Jessie called from the kitchen.
They went down and ate. Tiffany talked to her mom the whole time about how she couldn't wait for school to start back in a week. In the middle of dinner a man came in and sat at the spot that already had a plate in front of it and started to eat.
"This is Chelsea, Dear." Aunt Jessie said to the man.
He was about 37 years old and he was balding. He wore a garbage man's uniform and smelled of trash and cheap cologne.
    "Mmph." He grunted
“Well, does anyone want desert?"Aunt Jessie asked
Chelsea shook her head and got up, put her plate in the sink and went up to Tiffany's room.
About thirty minutes later Tiffany came up stairs.
"Mom says take a shower. Down the hall to the left. Towels are under the sink and shampoo and soap are on the sink."
Chelsea got up and took a shower. When Tiffany came back in the room Chelsea couldn't help but notice she had a small bruise on her arm.
Chelsea laid down and fell asleep almost instantly. The next day they had to go school shopping. Tiffany got six shirts, all pink, five skirts, three dresses, and a poufy pink jacket. Chelsea got four shirts, all black, six pairs of blue jeans and five hoodies.
"You and Chelsea are going to be in the same grade at school."
        Six days later school started.
"...and remember no talking to me, which should be easy since you don't talk, don't even act like you know me. At school, I’ve never met you in my life got it!"
This was like the billionth time she had said that that morning. They were in the car on the way to school.
"Hi class, I'm Misses Carlie. I am your 1st period History teacher. This year we will be learning ...."
Chelsea sat at the back of the class with her head on her desk.
