true story, although lame msn situation.
I decide whether or not to double click his name, so clearly written on the screen.

Yet, the letters seem to tremble, causing a wave of panic deep within me.

Carefully, I select the option of exchanging a few small words.

I quickly say "hi," fast enough to make sure I don't choose otherwise.

I am quick to notice the lack of typing that is not being done on his part.

I go into a fluster, only thinking the worst. Pessimism is my specialty.

For most of the night, I sit there, staring at the blank white screen,
other than the "hi" I attempted to start a conversation with.

Eventually, he goes offline, leaving me alone, unaware of the damage he has done.

The rejection I am feeling, is not only a feeling caused by him, but what feels like an eternity of agony.

Sometimes, it creeps up behind me, when least expecting it.

It wraps its filthy hands around my stomach, clenching it tight, making sure I don't escape.

At this moment I realize, I cannot escape this monster, only by escaping forever.

I am not sure, if I am ready to do that.
