Ever wonder how the man got on the moon?
I heard a tale once a long time ago,
about a man who lived on the moon.
How was that possible I wanted to know.
Listen, you shall hear the answer soon.

He didn't always live on the moon,
he once lived among me and you.
He went to the sky in a hot air balloon,
just for a ride, for a moment or two.

Things went wrong, needless to say
for this man who lives on the moon.
Never did he return from his afternoon play
Instead he floated all the way to the moon.

He landed with a thud and a clank
and knew at once he wasn't at home
The poor man's spirit sank
for he knew he was all alone.

He sat on a rock and was ready to cry,
when he gazed to the heavens for hope.
He suddenly had no desire to fly,
he saw then he had no reason to mope.

For thats when he realized what a treat he had,
a view of the stars from there on the moon.
And he vowed never again to be sad,
he would always smile down from the moon.
