feeling sad at the loss of habitat for birds
Saltbushes rustle
Wee creatures bustle
With insects they tussle
They must ever gather food

No bigger than a bite
They dart in flight
Keeping out of sight
Blue gems of the saltbush plains

These tiny feathered mites
Have lost their bush land rites
They're no longer our delights
Blue wrens, displaced by urban sprawl
