Cliffs edge

Standing on the cliff’s foot-worn edge
Wind is the only companion for you

Head bowed, arms like planks at your side
Weight of the world being but a nuisance on your shoulders
It seems light as a feather
Contrast to the weight of yourself

The brink to a fast death does not trouble you

Why you are here
Cannot be doubted
Infinite sadness has landed
It has become your only sustenance

Do not make me move on
I do not want to
Frantically questions pour forth
Bringing nothing but false hope

A light quickly stamped out
A heart quickly snuffed out
A cry quickly stifled
As the bottom of the brink
Catches up
