These are some poems I've written about my main characters in my novel.
Poem 1.
Her past, it locks away...
each fragement of her pain,
the happy child she once was,
has turned angry and vain;
the betrayal she felt,
sliding open that door...
only to find her mother,
slain on the bedroom floor;
her brother standing above,
a smile on his young face,
with blood across his body,
his sword at it's place.
Years and years go by,
the girl is angry still...
no one can penetrate the walls,
that hold her heart unfilled;
her anger becomes herself,
the pain no longer a threat,
it simply is a thorn in her side,
but one she'll never forget.
Poem 2.
She swore those walls would hold,
and never break down for anyone.
But she wanted something safe,
she didn't want to have to run.
She ran for years on end,
away from everything she felt,
She ran from her bloody past,
her childhood of hell.
But now the walls were weakening,
from one different young man,
He saw the wrath in her pale eyes,
but could not understand.
His past was just as scarring,
he was always shunned,
But he never was angry,
his prolems never begun.
To reach out to her, he wanted,
to help her trust and love,
The only thing returned was anger,
yet he would not give up.
She swore the walls would stay strong,
and that no one would bring them down.
But that young man knew she wanted love,
her weakness, he had found.
She never loved since her mother's death,
was too scared to ever trust,
But soon her walls would crumble,
soon she would know she must.
Poem 3.
She sat beneath the window,
her cigarette on the sill,
she fights herself to love,
she doesn't know if she will.
For months he's persisted after her,
he will not leave her now.
They've gone too far to forget,
they've already been found out.
Last night she was not thinking,
she was the first to shed her clothes,
How it even started,
neither of them know.
The walls were barely standing,
she was ready to let him in,
but now they're being rebuilt,
and her newfound feelings hidden.
It's been years since she ever loved,
this is her first time,
he's focused so much on her well-being,
he picks up every sign.
She's ready to run away,
like she always has.
He can't beleive she's gone,
he's lost the love he's had.
He remembers when she kissed him,
that night when she first knew,
something was different about him,
and she wanted him too.
Poem 4.
She felt his smooth back,
pale in the moonlight's shine,
this was the second mistake like this,
but not a mistake this time.
He caressed her cheek,
both eyes closed in thought,
nuzzling her shoulder,
unfurled her hands that were wrought,
She brushed away the tears,
they trickled down her face.
The walls were no longer there,
no longer holding her in place.
The love she never had
was finally being found,
he was the only one she loved,
though he was not allowed.
He felt her thin, long arms,
kissing up her neck.
Her heart, he finally reached,
and was more he could expect.
She hugged his curved back,
feeling too in love to even speak,
this was what he meant,
to feel love and to be meek.
She wanted it even more,
his love and even him,
And he wanted her more than anything,
and he had a ring.
