Poems from a writers workshop I took the May the 27th, 2007
Slivered Moon

A Slivered Moon like a sickle at harvest
A nobleman contemplating hope that may not come
A harvest of cherry blossoms blown on the midnight breeze
A thankful respite as the red belt floats
Praying the miracle may come

The Path

An over grown path
What passage may I find
The hope to discover
Some ancient mystery found
Pebbles on the path
Read like tea leaves
Divining the harvest of the soul
The miracle of the unknown
Awaits me in this thankful place
Over grown from the past of our souls

War Story

The missile leaves the rail
to finish a dying fleet
the Red guard in small boats
tankers the size of cities
they hope to sink
the miracle of a book
in front the heart
when the bullet strikes
what is the harvest
but what makes us strong
the names are read
that gave there lives
the harvest of sorrows
for those left behind
the miracle of peace
will ever come.
