Saying goodbye Some temporary, some for life Some with a smile on your face Some, with tears streaming Probably the hardest thing you’ve had to do, Saying goodbye. One night, one night to change them all, I remember it all so clearly. 12:59p.m. The rain’s pouring down Pounding on all below The moon at a half glare Partially shielded from the thick cover of clouds Black, as a shadow A Street light is the place. The one place where I can never go back If you ask why, you’ll soon find out Because that’s what its all about That’s what it’s always been about, since that fateful day My friend, The one who stood by me for all life’s turns and mysteries. Haunted by the death of his mother He was forced to do what he thought he had to do, He was forced, to do the un-thinkable He took up his punishing item and went over to do… Well I cannot say, but after the deed was done, he had no where to go Shunned by life, society… everything. He had no hiding spot, so he ran Ran and ran Impossible to tell the tears from a trapped, tortured soul from those of the raindrops, smashing his skin This day, this rain, was not as it always was. The rain was hot and burned the skin at a touch Tripping at the street light, was the last place he would run He turned, facing the cops and with his hand Pulled it out But before he could complete his motion he was… well, figure it out. You may ask how I know all this Well… I was the one The law, the justice, his soul reliever That’s how I said goodbye, My last goodbye Hand trembling, heart racing And my words… well the only one released was a noise. A bang So never leave the possibility of never saying goodbye Always live the way you would if this was yours or anybody’s last day |
