A depressing sappy love poem. But hey, you never know I could be the next Edgar Allan Poe!
“As I’ve Gone”
By: Sara C Thurmond
Date: January 20th, 2006

“Let go,”
I am told.
“Don’t you know,
that this is getting old?”

But none of them see,
Feel my heart inside,
Can’t see it can’t be,
Cuz’ I’ve died.

When she always hurt,
So far away.
Not seeing what she was worth,
The light of my day.

Suddenly her sun does shine,
As all falls in place.
But its not mine,
So I hide my face.

I feel so proud,
As she lets go of her pain.
But I’ve turned a different route,
As I’ve gone insane.

I smile and hear,
All her new joy.
But I remember every tear,
That I saw so many times.

She can go on,
And live her life.
As I’ve gone,
Buried in pain and strife.

I’ve shrunk back,
Into the shadow.
When love does lack,
I hide and cower.

But I’ll still remember,
As I’ve lost.
The memories will be a glowing ember,
Of all the bridges I crossed.
