What if a suggestion was swayed on your behalf?
Of all the things in this God forsaken sphere, it was the people of Earth who Admodeus despised the most. Those damn bottom feeders with their minds like sieves, there blind belief in anything even slightly tangible, so easy to manipulate, so easy to destroy, Hell. It just wasn't a challenge anymore, and If this demon loved anything at all, it sure was a good ol' challenge.
Lying back on the grass in 30 degree heat, wearing shades and a distinct scowl of irritation on his face, he waited for her to arrive.
New sounds filled the void. The noise of nature growing upwards, that buzz of the grass, the hum of the trees and the traffic, the noise of human emotion, so easily recognisable. He sensed the girl pretending to laugh even though she felt disgusted at her boyfriends joke. The mum who could be heared to be stating
"My little Sarah has come on leaps and bounds" but their was that minute change in pitch at 3Db and Asmodeus could sense a liar when he heard one.
And Then he smelt her perfume. Lilith was here. A shadow from 300 hundred yards. He sat up suddenly, just to take it all in. Lilith. The Goddess, that tempress. All smelling of ash and honey and melon. Of death a little, that sickly sweet scent of lilies. A funeral in multicolour. He sucked in the air. For the first time, feeling the heat of the day. A thought had been created. It was flying through at a microscopic speed. And all those humans had missed it. They were mute and weak and vain. Bending in zig zag formation, it was for him and him alone.
"She's feeling betrayed" . The message was clear, and without  another thought his head jerked towards a girl, sitting lonely by herself, on a bench, near the pond, her hands in despair, swinging dead by her side.
"Go over to her" Lilith teased, now only two minutes away, "I'll come find you...do it now." And he was up. Walking over, in strides of ease. Confidence and understanding mixed together in his posture now.
She was young. 17. Her Birthday was the second of April 1990. Her favourite colour was blue, her mother lived in Maryland, she liked to read romance novels, writing down her favourite parts, which she kept in a pink box under the bed.
  He sat down.
She didn't look up at first. But he began to project on her the idea of it. That she was intrigued by his presence and so, after only a few minutes, feeling more at ease, the girl looked up warmly and spoke.
".....Hi"  He smiled back
"Hey."
"Do I," She paused for a moment, embarrased by her sudden feelings of connection, "Do I know you? Only, It feels like I've seen you around before." Asmodeus smiled. Feeling the pride he took in manipulation.
"I don't think we've met no," He replied. "But you seemed like you needed a friend to talk to . Are you feeling okay?"
"Hmm..." Her voice sounded sleepy, "I've.." She paused again, trying in vain to fight of the feeling to tell him everything, to give in to his suggestion. "I've just been dumped. Tom told me I was no good, Not...good enough for him."
"That's not true, Sarah. Your a wonderful person."
"I...yeah...I know I'm, always, at least.."
"Trying to do the right thing?"
"...Yeah"
Feeling the air for emotion and knowing that Liltih would join him soon, Asmodeus moved closer to the girl and put an arm around her. He hated that. She felt so....well....human. It was like touching air. So weak and pitiful. It made him feel dirty and unclean.
"You know, I can help you get over this. Everyone needs a helping hand." He gustered up enough fibre to place a hand on her cheek. She turned towards him, slowly.
"...But...What can you do? How...can you help me?"
"By giving you this."
It was lilith. Sitting down to Sarah's left she looked over to Asmodeus and smiled. Smiling back genuinely for the first time, the demon took in her beauty all at once, sighing just slightly, at the remarkable and diabolical essence of everything that was her.
"We're going to help you Sarah." The girl turned to face her, "But you have to do something for us."
"What?...." Taking out the piece of paper and the gold rimmed pen she placed them in her lap gently, edging closer, to place a warm hand upon the girl's knee.
"Just sign this. It's simple! And then. you won't feel this pain anymore Sarah. You don't have to go home tonight, and stare at the blank TV screen. Or wonder why..."
"..Tom left me."
"Exactly."
"And if I...sign this, all that will go."
"Like magic" Lilith replied,
"Like magic," he answered nodding his head,
Cautiously, she took the pen.  Gripping it hard in her right hand the ink began to print her name, S.Batesman.
Right there, sudden and quick, a dash, a flurry. A contract. A binding, gripping, stealing, rampage of unstoppable force. Her hand went limp, the pair stood up.

It was 12.02pm. 31 degrees. On the bright Saturday of July, in Hamsten Park, the pair of shadows walked slowly hand in hand. They did not speak, but Lilith thought "I think I'd like a male next time." And Asmodeus smiled, slightly sqeezing her hand and replied "Next time...dear Lilith. Next time is your time"
"I know" Came the answer. "I know"
