Once I looked behind me as I traveled on a bay and saw another pair of prints so I began to make my way Then I walked on through a field and looked behind to see them there a set of prints layed out by mine oh how they looked the perfect pair And then a rocky hill before me climbed so high the top was lost I looked and found no other way to make my journey with out a cost And so I climbed or rock and crag finding that my strength was gone I looked behind to see the print but I found that there was none “I cannot carry on,” I said to someone that I thought not there “this hill’s too tall and I’m too weak. Have I but found the devil’s lair?” A feeling of warmth upon my back then a light that I did see coming from the hill above did return my strength to me When at the top I looked behind and felt a feeling of despair I got down on my knees I faced the sky and began to pray there “Father in heaven I thank Thee this day for walking with me all this long way You walked with me, through all my life, but why did you leave when I had a moment of strife?” “Dear child,” he said “I walked with you and when you dared to brave the wind you felt me there beside you too And when the road got hard you saw the second print, it had gone by, you see my child I carried you through all the struggles he did supply.” “My father,” I cried, “Please forgive me for I doubted you and did not see you stayed through all that I endured and helped me stay when I wondered.” “Come child you can not be blamed for dealing with burdens that cannot be tamed Just remember my love will find a way to you when you need it most so come on each and every day and pray with me the king of hosts.” |
