A young girl enters the darkness-but who will be terrifying whome in the gloom?
Ms. Marrissa Malfoy dared to venture closer towards the dark and dingy recesses of the black grove of trees.  The ground was soft and mushy beneath her feet from a recent rainstorm.  She wore a little red overcoat with a hood, with short pants and a sweatshirt underneath.  Her long, blond hair cascaded up and over the red hood.  Her face was that of a schoolgirl's, barely getting into her upper teens.  Within her deep, blue eyes the darkness seemed to lull her inside, calling her there like sin calls a demon.  What lay inside, she didn't know.  She just wanted to be there.
Marrissa crept stealthily into the undergrowth of the trees, meandering the leaves with expert precision.  Then a branch flew out of nowhere and hit her square in the face.  She lurched backwards and fell into a gloomy clearing.  When she managed to rise from her awkward fall, she saw a figure coming towards her from across the clearing.  It looked like a man, but as it drew nearer, and its details revealed themselves, she saw something else.  The figure had pointed ears and sharp facial features.  It had on a tight gimace of evil, and walked with purposeful steps.  It could have been a dark elf.
"Good eve..." he said softly, as if to purposely draw her closer to hear.
"Yo.  Bro.  Got the time?" she asked, completly unaware of the risk this figure posed.
"Oh yessss...I have all the time in the world," he said menecingly.
"Cool for you.  I just want Pacific Standard time, please," marrissa said, slightly annoyed.
"Time.  What time?  I have it all, as I possess immortality.  Will you drink form the fountain of youth?" the man said, smiling evilly and holding out a cup with a deep, glowing blue liquid inside.  The cup itself was ordained in skulls and domonic art engravings.
"Sorry, no time.  I must find someone with a watch who can tell me how late I am getting home." she said, holding her hand up to him and walking away quickly.
The dark elf stood there for a moment, suddenly overtaken with confusion from the sudden outburst from the girl.  By the time he turned to tempt her again, she was gone.
Marrissa lept through the forest now, running through the trees like a mad bat out of heck.  A hand shot out from behind and grabbed her coat, stopping her dead in her tracks (not literally).
The hand belonged to a long, gangling creature that swayed to a nonexistant wind.  It had big, glowing green eyes and stringy muscles all over it, some hanging off as if not fully connected.  Its voice was raspy and dead.
"Hello my dear.  Please join me in the land of the undead.  I'll make you prosperous there," it said alluringly.
"No!  I must get home!  Say, do you have the time?" asked Marrissa hopefully.
"We shall have eternity together.  Please, come and be my undead queen..." it said, pulling her towards it.
"Get off!  My mother is going to kill me for being late!"  she said, breaking loose and running like mad through the trees, the creature slowly trying to catch up to her.
She ran and ran, tripping here, stumbling there, but always moving.  As she moved about the forest, the twilight she had entered the grove with slowly faded.  It was getting late.  Night was coming.  Evil was coming.
Marrissa suddenly tumbled into another clearing.  Atop a high boulder was perched a darkwinged demon.  He had long, black hair and thick horns adorned with strings with skulls dangling off of them.  His face was a chiseled peice of art, with thin eyebrows and fanged lips.  He wore a thinclothed robe on his lower half, his upperhalf bare, exposing well shaped muscles and pointed, flowing fingers.  He stood tall, with dark, smoke colored skin and deep red eyes.
He jumped down next to her, taking her by the arm tenderly.  "You seem lost.  Care to tell me of your predicament?" he asked, a crooked grin spreading over his face.
"Yeah.  Do you have the time?  I have to get home," Marrissa said breathlessly.
"I might.  Just come with me, I'll take you to a clock." he said, pulling her further into his embrace.
"No!  I have to get home!" she screamed, hitting the demon in the face, breaking free, and running for her life.  Like a light through space, she zoomed through a limitless vacume, dashing as quickly as possible throught he leaves, moss and undergrowth.  She dove for the light in front of her.
She was home.  The woods ended in her backyard, and she raced to the kitchen door.  She jumped in, saw her mother, looked at the clock, and gasped in deathly surprise.  Her curfew was six thirty.  It was seven.
"You are late again you little brat!  You have disobeyed me for the last time!" her mother shreiked madly.
Ms. Marrissa Malfoy was presented to the rest of the family that night as a wonderful bowl of stew, with just a dash of spices and peprika.
