Written for my first boyfriend, when I was sixteen.
It won't be long, before you've gone away
I will miss all that you've come to mean.
We've grown so much together that I'm afraid
My darkened path ahead can't be seen.

You have taken care of me for so long
I won't know what to do when you're gone.
I'll just remember the times we've had and
Think of images of you I've drawn.

You are unique, no one can take your place
Without you, I won't have anyone.
Except myself and myself's creator
Who will guide me out of this canyon.

And I will learn to walk on level ground
And all the climbing will be over.
Then you will come back and claim me again
As your very best friend forever.
