Passionate poem about 9/11
Living Through a Nightmare

The innocent morn
The new-morning dew
The sunrise, a beginning of new

Carrying on life
Unaware of the terror to come
People hurrying among the streets
Down below these two magnificent modern feats

8:46 a.m. American Airlines Flight 11 strikes the North Tower
9:03 a.m. United Airlines Flight 175 strikes the South Tower
9:38 a.m. American Airlines Flight 77 strikes the Pentagon
9:56 a.m. The South Tower collapses
10:28 a.m. The North Tower collapses
10:00 a.m. United Airlines Flight 93 crashes in Pennsylvania

In exactly 1hour and 45 minutes America staggers
The flame of America flickers
All 4 planes were daggers
Shoved deep into the gut of society

The questions come to mind quickly:
Like a hurricane of why‘ s
A sandstorm of how’s
An avalanche of who’s

Bush answers each of these days later
“We've seen the unfurling of flags, the lighting of candles, the giving of blood, and the saying of prayers in English, Hebrew and Arabic.”
“Al-Qaida is to terror what the Mafia is to crime. But its goal is not making money. Its goal is remaking the world and imposing its radical beliefs on people everywhere.”
They do so without a care…

Willingly America takes a stand
Lady Liberty and the US army merely hand in hand
Osama our primary target,
We found an even deadlier threat
Its name: Saddam Hussein

Like the coward he is
The army tracked him to his hole
Where he laid in wait
Hoping it will all be over soon

Although they are still working hard
Progress is slow
And will remain that way
Eventually the army will leave Iraq
But that does not mean that Iraq will leave our thoughts
Leave our minds
Leave our dreams
Our nightmares…
