The Longing

darkness to darkness birthed was I
from her young womb into this life

restless and homeless for seven straight days
then they sent me to my present place

a mother and father to love and care for
did god know that I would need more
than they were able to my precious heart give?

it's not their fault this dark life I live
for some strange reason I need much more

beyond their power to share
beyonf mine to control

maybe some day, somewhere
my dark heart will find the one
who can nurture the deep, intense side...
