My heart fills this early morning,
When I turn to say goodbye.
My little girl is off to school,
Dressed in skirt and knee socks.
Where has the time gone?
Is kindergarten really here?
Her pony tails bouncing,
She grins and kisses me, Bye Mom!
Why do I have to do this?
Will she be okay, and make friends?
Will she be frightened as I am for her?
Never one to be shy,
I know that she will be fine.
But driving away now, waving, crying
I am not sure that I will be.
