I Watch

I watch her bound through the snow.
I watch her quickly start to grow.

I watch her as she runs.
I watch her as she has fun.

I watch her dream in her sleep.
I watch her when she takes my socks for keeps.

I watch her growing old.
I watch her still enjoy the cold.

I watch her sit outside in the rain.
I watch her unable to stand because of pain.

I watch her while my family lifts.
I watch her while her joints get stiff.

I watch her struggle with the pain.
I watch her as her breathing strains.

I watch her slowly close her eyes.
I watch her slowly fade and die.

I watch her spirit rise above.
I watch her smile down with love.

I watch her take an angle’s hand.
I watch her heading towards the end.

I watch her fly to the golden gates.
I watch her finally feel great.
