I don't normaly write pomes but I've been working on this. Hope you enjoy
When we were young wild and free
And I thought you were what I would always need
Time slipped slowly past
The sweet moments never seemed to last

It started with a careless word or deed
Cruelty seemed to become your specialty
I’d catch you in another lie
You seemed to take pleasure as you watched me cry

Then came a push and bruises on my arms
You’d always ask what’s the harm
You’re just a silly girl with nothing worth to hear
But I would never let you see my fear

Your hands around my neck a slap across my cheek
Oblivion is what I started to seek
I cut my wrists to bled the pain
Wore long sleeves to hide my shame

Innocence taken can never be returned
That’s the payment for the lesson I had to learn
If only others knew the pain I bear
Perhaps then the burden they would share

I walk away with nothing to lose
Freedom and peace is what I choose
You beg and pled for me to take you back
But everything I want you lack

We were young stupid and Naive
And now I know you are not what I need
Time continues to slip slowly past
But now I find happiness is within my grasp
