THE JOURNEY

Took a walk along
The path of your life
Try to get to know you
What your world was like
All the stops you made
Encountered road blocks
Your fall to the bottom
Your climb to the top

Lack of support
At a very young age
Hurt and abuse
To start your voyage
Those to protect you
Wasn’t much help
Went on your own
Carried the Burden for yourself

Got married very young
Took away your youth
Learned as time passed
Life's horrible truths
Again, your protector
Let you down
Drag you into drugs
And alcohol, to drown

Then there were others
Who pretended to care
Promised you tomorrow
Today, they’re not here
A life full of deceit
Drugs and abuse
Woke up one day
A different path, you would choose

You gave yourself
To yet another man
The Supreme Being
He helped you understand
The love you seek
Comes from inside
Take care of yourself
Handle yourself with pride

So Beauty From Ashes
Rose above
Became an Earth Angel
Showered others, with love
