you were stolen
They took you without reverence,
They shamed your name and then,
beyond the things they could have done,
they left you lying dead.

They hung your soul for worlds to see,
as we all cried your name.
and some of us did look away,
for a need to hide the shame.

The earth did not tremble once,
the ground would never shake,
and perhaps, come distant future,
your memory would fade.

But I will always love you,
this pain will never wan;
For from me you were stolen,
and I shall never love again.
