An eye opening experience for a nurse recovering from surgery
Ok, so here's the deal. After many years as a nurse, treating others with kindness, caring and loving hands, it's my turn. Right? Let see what you think.

Two months ago, a had a simple recostructive surgery on my knee. I did all the things any healthcare or non-health care person would do. I looked for and found the best doctor in my area, checked with my insurance for coverage, made arrangements with my employer, and prepared my family for my "short" down time. All my "ducks" are in a row.......I'm ready!

I arrive at the hospital, at my appointed time, which by the way is also were I'm employed. I'm escorted to my check in area by a very kind older gentleman and left in the care of a young women at the surgical desk. There, she gathers all the usuall information: Name, address, insurance, next of kin, etc. What I'm suprised at, is this person knows me. We have worked side by side in other departments, yet her cold manner leads me to believe I've upset her in the past without my knowing it. After a few minutes of signing papers and getting my ID band on, I'm directed to have a seat back in the waiting area. I walked away, a little frazzled by her behavior, but try to put it off to "her" having a bad day.
