An 82 year man is being forced out of a home he thought he was wanted in.
I LOVED AND CARED FOR HER ALL MY YEARS
NOW I FACE MORE TEARS
BEING EIGHTY-TWO
WHAT CAN I DO?
MY DAUGHTER HAS HER OWN TO CARE
DON’T WANT TO BE A BURDEN…WOULDN’T BE FAIR
SHE SAYS…I WON’T BE ALONE
THERE’LL BE OTHERS MY AGE AT THE HOME
THINGS TO PARTICIPATE IN…FINE AND DANDY
WHAT I REALLY WANT.IS MY FAMILY.
I LIKE IT HERE. I FEAR I’’D BE FORGOTTEN
IF THAT’S TRUE…MY LIFE MAY AS WELL END
THE PROMISE TO SEE US EVERY DAY
BECOMES LITTLE TO NONE …OUR EYES FILL WITH DISMAY.
DON’T WANT THESE FEARS.
I’LL TELL HER ONE MORE TIME
MAYBE IN HER HEART A PLACE FOR ME SHE’LL FIND.
MAYBE I CAN DIE IN PEACE AT HOME
AND NOT FORGOTTEN AND ALONE.
