Adam the ant lives in a nest.

He likes to carry things, big or small
But whatever it is, he carries it all.




Bobby the baboon lives in a zoo.

He likes to climb and sit in the sun
He is very furry but has a bare bum!



Christopher the crocodile lives in a swamp.

He swims around, hard to be seen
This is because he is big and green.



Danny the dog lives in a kennel.

He wags his tail and likes to play
He rolls in mud every day.



Ellie the elephant lives in the jungle.

She squirts water and goes for a run
Then she relaxes and sits in the sun.



Freddie the frog lives in a pond.

He sits on his lily pad lazing around
He likes being in water and on the ground.



Gordon the giraffe lives in a zoo.

He stretches his neck, high in the trees
Munching on leaves and feeling the breeze.



Harry the hamster lives in his cage.

He likes to go round and round and round on his wheel
And he fills his cheeks with a hearty meal.



Ian the iguana lives in the desert.

His skin is all wrinkly like an old man
He basks all day long on the hot sand.



Janine the jellyfish lives in the sea.

She has long tentacles that sometimes sting
What she likes best is to go for a swim.

She has a pouch for her baby roo
But bouncing around is what she likes to do.

He likes to give a performance and show off his roar

She twitches her nose and eats some cheese
She says to the cat, “Don’t eat me, please!”

Like Freddie the frog he is an amphibian.
In water they swim and on land they run.

He has eight long arms and squirts black ink
He hides in old boats that happen to sink.



Penny the penguin lives in the Arctic.

She waddles on land but swims like a fish
When she dives in the water it makes a splish!



Quentin the quail lives in a field.

He is a quality bird waiting to see
If the gamekeeper shoots him for somebody’s tea!



Russell the rabbit lives in a hutch.

He nibbles on cabbage and carrots a lot
A bed of straw is his favourite spot.



Sammy the snake lives in the jungle.

Take a warning, that when he hisses
It is a bite he gives, not kisses!




Tommy the tiger lives in a zoo.

You can’t hear him purr, he gives a growl
He paces his cage, he’s on the prowl.




Una the umbrella bird lives on an island.

She hates the rain and spreads her wings
And that’s the time she always sings.




Vera the vixen lives in the woods.

A female fox, with a brush for a tail,
And always on the chickens trail.




Willy the whale lives in the ocean.

He swims where he wants because he is free
His favourite food is krill for his tea.




Xavia the x-ray fish lives in a stream.

Her body’s transparent, you can see her bones
She swims on the bottom, around the stones.




Yolande the yak lives in the hills.

She follows the path with a pack on her back
She carries on up the winding track.




Zöe the zebra lives in a zoo.

Black and white stripes, looks just like a horse
And trots and gallops and canters of course.
