Goodbye

He said "sit down and we shall have a talk" thats all and nothing more,
She smiled at him politely and stared down at the floor.
As slowly she felt her world slip away when she heard the word Goodbye.
Thats all just one word but a tear slipped from her eye.
Its just a talk no more no less except for that one word "Goodbye"
This is how the heart can break in the silence that ensues,
When you thought you were finally a winner only to be told that you lose.
And the tears will fall like rain down a face filled full of pain.
But its just a talk no more no less except for that word "Goodbye"
But you know that you'll come through it and maybe then next time,
There won't have to be that talk nor that one word "Goodbye"
