Awaking in a Dream

I woke up breathing hard from a nightmare
And turned on my lamp
Jumped out of bed
Oh what a sight

I saw a black shadow
Standing in my doorway
I closed my eyes and counted to ten
When I looked again the shadow was gone

I went to the kitchen to get a glass of water
But before I got to drink some water I heard a noise
I looked down the hallway
And saw the shadow go through my sister's bedroom door

I tip-toed to my sister's door
Opened it quietly and looked inside
The black shadow was staring at my sleeping sister
I whispered "Why are you here"

The shadow turned around
I was shocked at what I saw
I saw my fathers face
I asked him "Is this real"

He smiled and said "This is only a Dream"
I woke up smiling
