a very smart fly... |
As the clouds collect way up high, I sit here wondering about that fly. He came in from the cold, Just to take a real good hold On the heat coming from the light, Then he's off for another flight! As I follow with my swatter in hand, Waiting for him to make a land. He must know I'm following close by, For he makes a U-Turn right In My Eye! I am shocked by his bravery even so, As I swat at him until he lets go. Much to my surprise though, He flies away like a Pro. I'm still in a daze from swatting myself, As I focus my eyes on the bedroom shelf. He appears to be just sitting there, As if he were saying a prayer. He sees me coming slowly toward him, But, he doesn't move, he looks so grim. I lift my arm holding the swatter, And all at once I see him Teeter-Totter. He appears to be going to fall, When I lower my arm, he flies down the hall. Now, I'm mad as can be, Cause this fly has tricked me. I figure this fly is really quite smart, I underestimated him right from the start. I know his game though, now, So I'll show him How- I can catch him real good, As I know now what I misunderstood. That darn fly has an attitude, And has put me really in the mood! I'll get him once and for all! There he is, "Spat", see him fall! As I saw him fall to the floor, He revived and headed for the door. I was tired of fighting with this fly, So, I held the door open as he flew right by. |
