Action Hero

Action hero for our time;
computer savvy warrior,
in just one day the country saved
from sarin gas, assassin’s threat,
corrupt exec., a missile sent.

In real time blocks, one hour a week
is all the normal mind dares seek,
while Jack does all this without sleep,
we need the time that’s in between
to analyze and comprehend
just how one day can be so full
of murder, mayhem and miscreants.

Though we second-guess at will,
who’s good, who's bad, and who’ll be killed;
we never get the drama right
‘till we watch the next hour of 24
count down each Monday night.
