Dark red blood spurted out of Sean's neck like a fountain, spattering on the clean white walls and slowly trickling down to the floor, leaving thin red trails behind Dakota stood shaking in a corner, her mouth opened to scream but it was as dry as a desert, and she kept choking on her salty tears. Sean's right hand left the back of his neck and fell to the floor, supporting him up so he wouldn't fall flat on his face. He slowly looked to Dakota, the thick dark blood running out of his mouth and past his lips and his chin like a waterfall. Dakota tried to give him a reassuring smile, but failed and broke down to tears, falling weak to her knees.
Dakota sat up sith a sudden jolt and looked around the darkend room. There was no blood on the walls and Sean wasn't laying on the floor near death. Everything was as Dakota had left it before she had turned off the light and went to sleep.
"Another nightmare..." she sighed and laid back down on her back and stared up at the ceiling, listening to the rain's soft tapping on her bedroom window.
Snuggling into the soft and warm blankets, Dakota closed her eyes and tried to go back to sleep, but she kept chasing it away.
