I have walked into the world of my imagination with a bright smile on my face
And realized how much is still hidden from me, even though so much of my time is spent here.

I have walked among the people who populate the vast lands I’ve created, marveling at the lives they lead
And wondered who they really are, although they are the people I know best.

I have walked though the vast caverns of my mind, searching for missing parts of my soul
And discovered whole civilizations unknown to everyone but me, yet still holding their arcane secrets close.

I have walked quickly though this world, ducking my head to avoid the curious looks from passers by
And missed many opportunities to grow and become a better daughter, a better sister, a better writer, a better person.

I have walked silently though my own life, watching the world around me slide by in confused wonder
And answered the ever present call of my soul to flee, to return to my own world, the safest place I know.

I have walked a night through the cities of my invention, watching my creation sleep a slumber filled with dreams, pregnant with horror
And questioned whether or not it is right for me to have all of this; whether or not it is right for me to force my creations through their lives.

I want to walk through the world of my imagination, both when I sleep and when I wake
And know that I am doing no wrong by being here, creating my worlds and stories.
