Wishes

Coins
held closely,
fist clenched tight,
whispered wishes in the night;
eyes shut wide, heart opens the hand,
casting aloft coins in free flight to land; their sibilant splash
adding my hopes to the chorus of chattering coins; singing life’s ardent dreams.
