After a breakup...

Build a city in my heart,
And raze it to the ground.
Just make sure everything is perfect,
Before you tear it down.
Hold me closer than your body,
And then rend the skin.
Cause living simply isn't worth it,
Unless you're torn within.

And I just want to say...

This broken man will survive,
I've gone through seven,
But I have nine lives.
Next time I'll ask for an extension,
On the days we have.
To give you more time to prepare,
To break my heart of glass.

Make the throneroom shine in splendor,
Because there is no king.
My love is nails upon a chalkboard,
So I'll say anything.
To remind you of the man I was to you,
Now gone your sky is graying,
But mine's a perfect blue.

I speak in lies so...

Remember me upon the verge of smiles,
Memories fading fast,
So this could take a while.
Maybe I didn't fit the portrait,
Of what you had in mind.
Last time I check being myself,
Could be my only crime.

And all we have left now...

Ashen cities; fallen deities in frozen snow,
Crystal tears; unshed fears before I had to go.
Tonight I'll murder all my sorrows,
And I'll remember not to borrow,
Hidden dreams in broken hearts,
Before my wording falls apart,
Remember we built this city,
And then you set it on fire.
