albeit a tad patronizing.

I rose to meet your challenge
an adroit attempt to mirror
your "warrior" stance.

Admiring my alicritous response
you fell out of position
limbs akimbo
and for the first time
vulnerable to me.

Meeting your eyes, finally
the split second pride
an amenity to my stature

Like a proud oak tree.
