My entries for the lyric contest (so far two songs)
The only question

I don't know how she did it to him
Lifted him up to heaven and dropped him to hell
Will he ever recover, its too early to tell

She looked like an angel he said
And we all know how that story ends
This one just the same, with a heart to mend

She was smiling when she went
Evil down to the core
The only question she left him with
Is why he couldn't see it before

He sits below the tree they sat under
When love was in his heart and in his mind
How could she have left him so far behind

The autumn glory has stripped the tree
The same as his empty soul now feels
The fallen leaves just don't seem real

She was smiling when she went
Evil down to the core
The only question she left him with
Is why he couldn't see it before

She was smiling when she went
Evil down to the core
The only question she left him with
Is why he couldn't see it before

Nature or nurture

I can see a lot of my father in me
Both the good and the bad
I owe him for so much
The kindness I feel and the mad

I'm an angry young man
That's plain to see
A rage burns inside
that longs to break free

A fire, a desire
A hunger i can not fulfill
A piece of my soul
That demands thrills

Was I born like this
Or did life make me angry
Is it nature or nurture
That makes me me

Do I blame my father
For the way I was raised
Or do I blame him for
The blood in my vains

Whichever either way
I lay the blame on dad
He's the reason I rise so high
And why I get so mad

Was I born like this
Or did life make me angry
Is it nature or nurture
That makes me me

I can see a lot of my father in me
Both the good and the bad
I owe him for so much
The kindness I feel and the mad
