I have a Travel Guide

Outside is drab and grey but that’s okay because my mind is far away.
I’m in gay Paree with Natalie and we’re sipping on fine champagne.
But with a flick of the book I can stop on another page - and with this hop across the border to a senorita in sunny Spain.

Because I have a travel guide and so if I shut my eyes I’ll have a ticket to ride from London to Pompeii, and then back again through Honolulu where I’ll hope to meet some more delightful friends.

I say “das vidanya” to Tatiana and again I’m on my way… going from Moscow to the Asian border upon a Trans Siberian choo-choo train. Then time for a cup of tea and it's back to page one hundred and three - where I'll meet little Miss Ling Sing from Beijing.

Because I have a travel guide and so if I shut my eyes I’ll have a ticket to ride from London to Pompeii, and then back again through Honolulu where I’ll hope to meet some more delightful friends.

And maybe tomorrow I'll look for a reference book on the stars and galaxies from far away. Then I can talk to Yuri Gagarin about the most beautiful of martians from beyond the Milky Way.
