Merry in the Maytime

Was Mary in the daytime

And so was Merry in the Maytime.

Merrily danced Mary

Around the square so green.

And Merry merrily joined in

To see his merry queen.

The merry Merry and his Mary

Danced merrily through the merry crowd.


They came to a stop laughing,

(And merrily may I say?)

At a quite small table

With a merry bunch of flowers.

For who? But the merry Mary!

"Mary," merry Merry said,

now on one square knee,

"Would you marry me?"

And then the merry Mary

And the merry Mary

Grew merrier.

For then Merry and his merry Mary

Got married in the merry month of May.
