Lotus

I lost my purity but painted it on instead--
The lotus, a symbol of purity, purity only in my head.

But I'm a Christian so it has to be much, much more,
Concerning the fact that true purity is yet in store.

Through the pain that I have endured thus far,
I remember the promise of Christ through a star.

It's really about His birth, death, and life
Since He resurrected in body after enduring strife.

The lotus is purity and resurrection and beauty;
Moreover, it is a reminder to rise above adversity.
